JOB TITLE : Space Modeling and Simulations Engineer (Level II, III, IV)

REPORTS TO : SABG PM

FLSA STATUS : Regular Full-Time Exempt

SUMMARY : SABG is seeking a Space Modeling and Simulations Engineer in Multiple Levels- Level II, III, and IV to support the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.

  • Perform orbital mechanics modeling including orbit determination, orbital maneuvering, and spacecraft flight dynamics
  • Supporting Sensor phenomenology (optics / radar / RF)
  • Utilize and develop cutting-edge mod / sim tools and algorithms to help address some of the most challenging issues regarding Space Situational Awareness (SSA) for the Intelligence Community (IC) and Department of Defense (DOD)
  • Develop code / scripts to develop algorithms, perform analyses, and automate data processing to model space conflict scenarios for system evaluation and mission effectiveness
  • Work in a collaborative team environment studying and analyzing a wide variety of interesting and complex problems in the Space domain

SUPERVISION : This position has supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM related field such as Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Aerospace, Computer Science, etc.
  • Level II – 2-5 years of experience; Level III – 6-9 years of experience; Level IV – 10-13 years of experience
  • Active Top Secret / SCI w / Poly Clearance
  • Experience using one or more of the following : C , Python, R, SQL, PostgreSQL, Linux, MATLAB, VBA, or STK
  • Engineering analysis (collecting, organizing, analyzing data) experience
  • Excellent communication skills that will allow the presentation of findings to internal and external customers
  • COMPUTER SKILLS :

  • Proficient computer skills and familiarity with relevant software applications are required. Candidates must demonstrate a high level of competence in using computers and be adept at navigating various software platforms and databases relevant to the field. The ability to utilize technology effectively and efficiently is essential, and candidates should not be novices in computer usage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, beyond basic word processing skills is required. Candidates should demonstrate intermediate to advanced proficiency in utilizing the features and functionalities of these software applications. Additionally, familiarity with Adobe Acrobat and its various tools is essential.
  • Experience with market intelligence software such as GovWin is preferred.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS : Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Solid understanding of basic mathematical concepts and the ability to apply them in proposal development.

    REASONING ABILITY : Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to question activities and issues in all functional areas and make sound business decisions based on that data.
