What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Controller position at Strategic Insight, Ltd.?

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Maintains the Deltek Costpoint accounting system, ensuring the accurate presentation of financial results,
- Monthly GL closes and performs balance sheet reconciliations,
- Oversee the accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, and payroll functions,
- Manage accounting staff,
- Oversees GAAP audits by outside independent auditors; oversees preparation of requested items,
- Established and maintained accounting policies and procedures,
- Ensures timely billing of work and the collection of accounts receivables,
- Monitors cash disbursements and receipts to allow for maximum utilization of the company resources,
- Support the development of the annual incurred cost submission to DCAA and rate pools,
- In coordination with Human Resources, manage the training and development of accounting staff,
- Assists with quarterly and annual budget process,
- Assists with contract management,
- Look for ways to improve processes and controls already in place and/or implement new ones that are needed, especially ways to reduce days to close,
- Provide management with timely, actionable, and quality information,
- Assists with audits by regulatory agencies,
- Assists with the issuance of financial reports in order to provide management with a precise review of the corporation’s financial position, and
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum/General/Experience:
- Education: Minimum of a bachelor’s degree
- Strong experience with Deltek Costpoint
- Experience with Government Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS)
- Ability to read, understand, and apply contracts from a financial perspective
- Knowledge of Fixed Price, T&M, and Cost-Plus contract types
- Multiple divisions and multiple cost pools
- Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Multi-state payrolls
- Financial Statement preparation
