We are seeking a highly skilled Finance Director to join our team and play a pivotal role in our financial management and strategic planning. The Finance Director will be a key member of our accounting and finance team, responsible for overseeing and driving the company’s financial planning, analysis, and controllership functions. This role will involve managing corporate financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis to support profitability and data-driven decision-making. You will work closely with the Finance Senior Associate in the department as well as senior management to develop and execute strategic plans and provide insightful analysis to drive business performance.

 

Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs):

Corporate Finance

  • Lead the financial planning and analysis function, including managing the annual budgeting process, quarterly forecasts, and long-term planning.
  • Oversee the preparation of quarterly management reports for senior leadership, board of directors, and investors.
  • Conduct capital needs projections, including credit facility cash needs, borrowing base calculations, and interest projections.
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis to support strategic and operational decisions.
  • Conduct tax filings and payments including annual tax filing, K-1s for members, quarterly distributions for members and quarterly filing to various states.
  • Calculate annual dividends. Annual External Valuation with external auditors to complete the annual valuation and pricing of Strategic. 
  • Negotiate Annual Insurance, including E&O, D&O, Fiduciary Liability, FI Bond, ERISA, and Cyber.
  • Conduct and file regulatory reporting requirements in compliance with Bureau of Economic Analysis, including annual and quarterly reports

Business Operations

  • Collaborate with business units on cost reporting and cash forecasting.
  • Advise on financial aspects of deal negotiations and greenlight analyses.
  • Supervise development tracking, reporting, and data integrity using financial systems such as Sage Intacct.
  • Lead headcount planning and personnel forecasting.

Accounting and Controllership

  • Collaborate with the Finance Senior Associate on general ledger reporting and financial statement preparation.
  • Support accounting audits and assist with financial reporting tasks as needed.
  • Provide backup for the Finance Senior Associate in workflow approvals and related tasks.

Leadership and Team Development

  • Work alongside Finance Senior Associate in managing the team, including providing mentorship and professional growth opportunities.
  • Engage in process improvements and document best practices to enhance financial operations.

Strategic and Analytical Support

  • Provide senior management with regular feedback on financial performance, including analysis of variances between plans and actual results.
  • Develop and leverage management reports and dashboards to support informed decision-making across the organization.
  • Support global financial projects and strategic initiatives as needed.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration; advanced degree or certification such as CPA, CFA, or MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in finance, with a strong focus on FP&A, and business reporting.
  • Extensive experience in financial planning and analysis within a financial services or investment management environment.
  • Proficient in financial software and systems such as Sage Intacct, Oracle, and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements and metrics, with the ability to translate them into actionable insights.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and leading teams, with excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities
