Position Overview: The Instructional Systems Design Specialist (ISDS) is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of courseware, including both computer-based and instructor-led training. The ISDS will also facilitate online meetings for course development and revision purposes.
Location: Transportation Safety Institute (TSI), Highway Traffic Safety Division, RTI-70
Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
· Design and develop computer-based and instructor-led courseware.
· Implement effective instructional strategies and techniques in the classroom environment.
· Facilitate online meetings using platforms such as Adobe Connect, Zoom, and Teams for course development and revision.
· Manage and oversee the entire courseware development process, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
· Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure accuracy and relevancy of training materials.
· Evaluate and revise training programs based on feedback and performance metrics.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in education or a related field is required.
- Master's degree in education or a related field is desired.
- Experience:
- 1-2 years of experience in instructional systems design, courseware development, and management is required; 3-5 years is desired.
- 1-2 years of experience as an instructor delivering training to adults, with the ability to implement effective classroom techniques, is required; 3-5 years is desired.
- 1-2 years of experience in the design and development of computer-based instruction and instructor-based courseware is desired.
- 1-2 years of experience in hosting and facilitating online meetings using platforms like Adobe Connect, Zoom, and Teams is desired.
Contractor Quality Control/Assurance:
- Provide supervisory personnel to monitor the work assignments and performance of all contract personnel.
- Conduct evaluations to ensure task outcomes are met and to assess contract compliance.
- Replace any individual not performing consistent with TSI policies, procedures, or practices upon government request.
Personnel Supervision:
- This contract is not a personal services contract; therefore, contractor personnel will not be supervised by TSI managers or personnel.
- Designate appropriate and sufficient supervisory personnel to manage day-to-day supervision, including work assignments, performance monitoring, payroll records, and leave approval.
- The FAA/TSI will provide technical and policy guidance as needed through the assigned Contracting Officer Representative (COR).
