Location: St Petersburg, FL - hybrid -3x on site and 2x remote
Duration: 12 months possible extension
Pay Rate: $60-70/hr. W2. W2 only, sorry we cannot do C2C

NOTE: Worker must be in attendance at HQ every Tues & Wed (3rd day onsite is flex/field days count as "in office"). Must have Valid driver's license.
Qualifications:
A Telecom Engineer has 7-10 years of experience in data network engineering and can work independently.
• They may work directly with business partners and lead projects to design and implement complex data solutions.
• High familiarity with designing, implementing, and maintaining LAN, WAN, and WLAN networks and technologies.
• Strong understanding of large enterprise networks and enterprise network technologies.
• Strong working knowledge of routing protocols, route advertisement, filtering of route prefixes, and redistribution of routing information.
• Configure and deploy routers and switches using provisioning templates as well as generating configurations for unique deployments where a solution does not yet exist.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Fundamental understanding for firewall technologies, ability to add/delete network policy, troubleshoot firewall related issues using firewall log entries and validate firewall routing.
• Have a working knowledge of underlay and overlay network technologies and protocols such as GRE and IPsec tunnelling, DMVPN, and SDWAN.
• Using Visio, have the ability to create network drawings and construction packages for field technicians to install data equipment, providing written instruction with a BOM.
• Experience with network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds Orion.
• Ability to utilize tools available in Windows computers, data equipment command line interfaces, web-based servers, and other systems.
• Familiarity with network monitoring, services, and systems, such as SolarWinds Orion, Cisco ISE, and Bluecat IPAM.
• Preform NERC CIP compliance work, add or remove devices from the network and process Footprints Change Requests to modify configuration
Scope:
• Plan, create, and maintain data networks while also keeping the design aligned with corporate architectural standards and recommended methods and procedures.
• Strong verbal and written skills, with the ability to define, describe, and convey information through various mediums such as telephone, email, and messaging.
• Data engineers are expected to have a wide array of technical expertise, the job also requires critical thinking and the ability to solve problems creatively.
• Data engineers must also be able to work effectively in collaboration with other data experts and communicate results and recommendations to management and colleagues without networking or technical backgrounds.
• Adherence to federally mandated and internal business requirements and procedures.
• Commitment to security and integrity of the data network supporting the Electric Grid.
