Under the direction of the department manager and / or supervisor, the person in this position will be responsible for managing and inputting the data to be used for tracking insurance on all commercial real estate loans. The Insurance Specialist will handle all aspects of the database : input and updates to data, generation of reports and letters, and other duties as assigned. This person is responsible for acting in the most timely, efficient and responsible manner to protect the interest of the investors pursuant to the mortgages serviced for them.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Manage and update the data contained in the servicing system to reflect the current status regarding insurance policy effective dates, coverage amounts and premiums.

- Review, analyze and interpret all types of property and liability insurance policies, for commercial loans to update the policy data contained in the servicing system.
- Assist the Insurance Specialists as requested.
- Monitor to ensure the collection of the necessary documentation needed to determine that all non-escrowed and escrowed loans for a given pool have adequate insurance policies in force.
- Monitor and accurately disburse the payment of all insurance premiums for the commercial mortgage loans assigned, if any, for which there are escrow funds being held and any force place insurance premiums.
- Generate correspondence and correspond verbally as necessary with borrowers, insurance agents, and insurance companies to gather insurance information and / or resolve any issues or discrepancies related to insurance according to department policies and procedures.
- Interact with Escrow Analysis Department to resolve any issues or discrepancies related to insurance premiums and data entry.
