We are currently seeking a Senior Civil Cost Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in the financial planning and execution of civil engineering projects by providing accurate and detailed cost estimates. This position focuses on large-scale civil infrastructure projects, including dams, levees, large earthmoving, flood control systems, river and coastal facilities, and coastal flooding prevention projects. The Civil Cost Estimator will analyze project plans, specifications, and other relevant documents to forecast project costs, including materials, labor, equipment, and overhead specific to these projects.

Key Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze civil project plans and specifications to determine project scope, with a focus on dams, levees, large-scale earthmoving, river and coastal facilities, flood control systems, and coastal flooding infrastructure.
- Utilize specialized estimating software to quantify materials, labor, and equipment necessary for complex civil construction projects, including excavation, dredging, embankment, and hydraulic structures.
- Identify cost factors specific to flood control, coastal protection systems, and large-scale earthworks, such as site conditions, materials (e.g., concrete, steel, riprap), water management, environmental regulations, and long-term project sustainability.
- Collaborate with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and engineering teams to gather vital information and ensure alignment on project details and cost considerations.
- Apply knowledge of civil construction industry markups, profit margins, overhead costs, and contingency planning specific to flood control and coastal infrastructure projects.
- Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of estimates while adhering to project deadlines, working both independently and within a collaborative team environment.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).
- Experience: 15 years of experience in civil construction, infrastructure development, or construction management with a focus on cost estimating for large civil projects such as dams, levees, flood control systems, earthmoving, and coastal protection.
Skills:
- Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, particularly in large-scale infrastructure projects like dams, levees, and flood control systems.
- Experience estimating for large earthmoving operations, hydraulic structures, river and coastal facilities, and coastal flooding infrastructure.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
- Experience with cost estimating software (e.g., HCSS HeavyBid, RSMeans, or similar) specific to civil infrastructure projects.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for coordination with project teams, vendors, and clients.
- Detail-oriented, analytical thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Job Type: Full-time, Hybrid
Pay: $115,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
