We are a small firm on a solid growth trajectory looking for a Financial Planning Assistant / Paraplanner to join our growing team.

Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to :

  • Assisting the Retirement Plan and Wealth Management Divisions.
  • Preparing client onboarding paperwork for financial planning engagements.
  • Gathering and inputting client data and information into financial planning software.
  • Assisting in the preparation of prospect or client files prior to meetings.
  • Sending, receiving, and processing client documents and communications with clients, other professional advisors, and vendors.
  • Inputting and assigning tasks to Advisors in the CRM.
  • Preparing for client meetings, including preparing presentations, reports, agendas, and supporting documentation.
  • Documenting client meetings and organizing data.
  • Completing follow-up arising from client meetings, including updating client data; synthesizing notes; completing communications in CRM; and corresponding with clients, advisors, and vendors as needed.
  • Producing and maintaining reports and logs.
  • Updating clients’ plans and monitoring and evaluating as circumstances change.
  • Identifying opportunities to deepen and solidify the relationship with the client (e.g. insurance, banking, etc.).
  • Staying current on trends in the financial planning area.

The appropriate candidate will possess the following qualifications :

  • Preferred : Business Administration Diploma or other college degree in a relevant business discipline or equivalent experience.
  • FPQP or CFP designation or willing to obtain them.
  • Past experience in a role involving financial planning and using financial planning software.
  • Strong computer skills in the MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point).
  • In addition, the appropriate candidate will possess the following attributes and will be able to provide examples of how they have demonstrated each :

  • Analytical and data oriented. Has a love for numbers.
  • Self-starter who takes initiative and can work independently.
  • Problem solver with an ability to anticipate and understand future steps necessary to accomplish tasks.
  • Critical thinker who can come up with unique ways to solve problems.
  • Organized with good follow-through.
  • Ability to understand financial product details.

    We are open to hiring at a range of experience and levels, so compensation will be set in accordance with experience.

    Summary

    This is a challenging role but is perfect for someone who is excited to see how the financial planning process can enhance client relationships and grow a successful practice. Further, this role is right for someone who enjoys financial planning but is not seeking to build his / her own financial planning practice. This individual will have the opportunity to grow as a member of our team for many years professionally and personally. There is a potential to become a Financial Advisor if desired.
