Executive Director (ED) of flyGateway (FG)
The ED oversees all aspects of FG flight school operations across multiple locations, reporting directly to the Board of Directors (BoD) of the flyGateway Foundation. Key responsibilities include:
Core Responsibilities
- Sales Management: Lead new student onboarding and manage partnerships, including educational institutions (individual and bulk relationships).
- Training Oversight: Recruit, manage, and support flight school instructors and their operations.
- Administration: Ensure smooth operations across locations, manage contracts, and oversee third-party relationships.
- Fleet Management: Handle scheduling, maintenance, and owner relations of training aircraft.
- Marketing Collaboration: Work closely with FGs corporate partner, FA, to develop marketing strategies aimed at attracting students. Marketing services will be reimbursed to FA on a cost-only basis.
- Scholarship & Community Programs: Develop and propose scholarship programs to the BoD to provide financial aid for aspiring pilots and aviation professionals.
Strategic Growth Initiatives
- Expansion Exploration: Investigate potential new locations and aviation sectors, such as mechanical training. Build partnerships with industry leaders, government agencies, and nonprofits, and seek grants to facilitate growth.
- Budgeting: Collaborate with the BoD and corporate partner FA to finalize the annual budget by October 15th for BoD approval.
Additional Areas of Focus
- Commercial Industry Relationships: Generate revenue through pilot training and other aviation services provided to third parties, ensuring all activities align with FG's nonprofit mission of fostering aviation careers.
- Operation of Cirrus Training Center: Manage, for a negotiated fee, the FA Cirrus Training Center at Wings Field.
- Career Placement Program: Partner with FA to establish a career placement program for FG graduates. A placement fee may apply for successfully connecting graduates with industry opportunities.
Compensation Package
The ED role will include a compensation review aligned with performance metrics and operational efficiency goals. The budgeting process is scheduled for August/early September, with an updated compensation package finalized for 2025. The ED will participate in determining their remuneration package in collaboration with the BoD.
