The Straz Center for the Performing Arts is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Finance Analyst to join our finance team. This role will provide support to the Finance Team by analyzing financial data, assisting with budgeting and forecasting, and ensuring compliance with non-profit accounting standards. This role involves preparing financial reports, cash flow reporting, analyzing trends, and supporting strategic decision-making to ensure the fiscal health of the organization. Additionally, the Financial Analyst is responsible for maintaining financial and administrative data and processes, providing special project support for finance functions, reporting, and data analysis to support management.

Essential Functions:

  • Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and analyze financial reports, conduct variance and trend analysis, and support benchmarking to provide insights for decision-making.
  • Budgeting & Expense Management: Assist in budget development, monitor department budgets and capital projects, track revenue and expenses, and ensure financial alignment with organizational goals.
  • Accounting & Compliance Support: Support the month-end and year-end close processes, prepare journal entries and reconciliations, assist with audits, and ensure compliance with non-profit accounting principles.
  • Administrative & Operational Support: Assist the VP of Administration with center operations, contract management, financial policies, risk controls, reporting, and event coordination.
  • Payroll & Staffing Analysis: Manage payroll systems, ensure compliance with tax and audit requirements, reconcile payroll transactions, analyze budget variances, maintain employment records, and collaborate with HR to verify hiring accuracy and staffing alignment with budgets.
  • Business Systems Management: Develop and enhance reporting, support data retrieval and reconciliation, collaborate with IT on system improvements, troubleshoot issues, and maintain business system records.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse population.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills.
  • Proactive individual, proficient in working independently or on a team to achieve organizational goals.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple, deadline-driven projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Creative and analytical thinker with financial modeling experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications to include Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Experience with using financial and customer relationship management database software required.
  • Experience with Blackbaud, Tessitura and/or ASAP preferred.

Education and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting required.
  • At least three to five years' professional experience in related function.
