Dispatcher/Lead Driver

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Driver to oversee our transportation operations and ensure the efficient delivery of medical specimens The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a comprehensive understanding of transportation management, and the ability to communicate effectively with team members and clients. This role is critical in maintaining our fleet's performance and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of drivers to ensure timely and safe delivery of packages.
• Manage transportation planning and logistics to optimize routes and reduce costs.
• Oversee shipping and receiving operations, ensuring accuracy in data entry and documentation.
• Utilize our software to track shipments and manage driver operations.
• Maintain effective communication with team members, clients, and vendors regarding delivery schedules and service issues.
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal transportation regulations.
• Provide training and support to new drivers on company policies, procedures, and best practices.

Experience

• Proven experience in a lead driver or supervisory role within the transportation industry.
• Strong background in fleet management, shipping, receiving, and freight operations.
• Familiarity with phone systems for effective communication within the team.
• Proficient in data entry with attention to detail for accurate record-keeping.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
