Overview
Street Law Firm, LLP is seeking a bookkeeper to be responsible for the firm’s day-to-day bookkeeping, billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, account reconciliation, accepting and depositing funds, and payroll. The bookkeeper will use the firm’s billing and accounting software to record transactions and prepare standard reports for the partnership. The bookkeeper’s duties are designed to keep the partners apprised of the financial health of the firm. In addition, the Bookkeeper shall immediately apprise the partners of any unusual financial activity or problem that may arise.
Responsibilities:
- Set up new client matters in the accounting system.
- Prepare invoices.
- Edit prebills to include: corrections, write-off of time entries, mark hours up or down, transfer entries, and apply trust monies.
- Prepare monthly retainer billing.
- Run and distribute final statements.
- Run and distribute reminder statements.
- Enter clients’ payments into the accounting system, prepare bank deposit, balance daily reports, and, upon approval, assure that deposits are delivered to the bank.
- Prepare cash flow report.
- Input all payrolls into payroll system.
- Code and enter all expense invoices and check requests.
- Verify all invoices and check requests are properly approved.
- Prepare daily or weekly check runs.
- Mail accounts payable checks upon approval.
- Maintain petty cash fund.
- Answer questions related to payables and billing questions.
