Description

The Credit & Consumer Lending Administrator is responsible for processing consumer loan applications and managing the consumer loan portfolio for all markets. This position works directly with the Relationship Bankers and applicants to ensure that loans issued meet the Bank’s policy guidelines and conform with consumer lending laws and regulations. The Credit & Consumer Lending Administrator also possesses the ability to serve in all operational functions (doc prep, loan administration, and audit) executed and overseen by the department. Supports commercial loan production teams through courteous, timely, and accurate preparation and review of loan documents. Gathers, compiles, and evaluates information, as well as obtains documents necessary for timely completion of a loan, up to and following closing.

Principle Duties And Responsibilities

  • Partners with the Relationship Bankers to process consumer loan applications for all markets; approves applications up to a specified amount.
  • Prepares, reviews, and executes required loan documentation, organizes workflow for any applicable loan renewal, and follows up with appropriate parties for missing loan documentation, as necessary.
  • Monitors the consumer lending portfolio to manage collections and maintain acceptable levels of delinquency, documentation requirements, and compliance with applicable policies and regulations.
  • Works with leadership to maximize the Bank’s earnings and minimize losses from consumer lending activities.
  • Works directly with the loan production officers and assistants to aid in facilitating commercial loan closings.
  • Responsible for verifying proper documentation required for underwriting.
  • Prepares loan documents in accordance with the Bank’s credit policy and loan approval and in compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory requirements.
  • Reviews centrally prepared loan documents prior to closing for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory requirements, and the Bank’s credit policy.
  • Identifies, tracks, and communicates loan exceptions, as needed.
  • Maintains escrow payments and annual analysis.
  • Responds to and assists customers with questions on their existing loans.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field, or minimum 7 years’ equivalent work experience, required.
  • 5 years’ experience in financial institution producing commercial, agriculture, consumer, and mortgage lending, required.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Extensive administrative or professional experience in a relevant field that provides the background and experience necessary to guide the Bank’s consumer and commercial lending portfolio servicing activities in a financially safe and sound manner.
  • Thorough knowledge of commercial, agriculture, mortgage, and consumer lending practices.
  • Thorough understanding of loan documentation criteria and business objectives.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and evaluate detailed and complex loan documents.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
