The Systems Administrator II is primarily responsible for providing second-tier technical assistance to the helpdesk and enterprise support. Supported systems include, but are not limited to computer systems, networking, IT orchestration, hardware, and software. The Systems Administrator II is also responsible for responding to internal customer queries, isolating problems, and determining and implementing solutions.
Principle Duties And Responsibilities
- Serves as second-tier technical support for internal customer queries via helpdesk calls related to all software, networking, hardware, and equipment utilized by the Bank, with a focus on Server systems and network monitoring. Fulfills other end-user questions, issues and/or requests via trouble-ticket system.
- Works closely with vendors to ensure platforms are kept updated in terms of functionality, stability, availability, and security.
- Works to ensure workstations, servers, and network infrastructure receive functionality, security, or antivirus updates in accordance with policy. Troubleshoots instances of software incompatibilities resulting from updates and/or new software installations.
- Serves as resource for SAN storage and disaster recover systems.
- Supports virtual computing environments, including host-level configuration, monitoring and deployment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in an Information Technology related field, preferred.
- 3-5 years of related experience in systems administration, required.
- Ability to take creative approaches to investigating and solving problems.
- Ability to communicate in a clear and courteous manner while providing effective customer service.
- Ability to obtain and maintain effective level of technical literacy to support effective administration of disparate technical systems.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while prioritizing tasks, without requiring direct assignment or close supervision.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows Operating Systems (Windows 7/8/10/22 and Windows Server 20xx Family).
- Strong knowledge of SAN storage.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Active Directory, DNS, DHCP services.
- Experience with VMware.
- Extensive LAN & WAN experience, with focus on remote data center and geographically diverse endpoints.
- Experience with backup systems, Veeam preferred.
