General Purpose: As the Director of Strategy and Innovation of STRIDE CHC h and a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, Director of Strategy and Innovation works closely with the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to identify and implement opportunities where innovation and strategy will benefit STRIDE CHC and our patients. In addition, as the Director of Strategy and Innovation, supports the CEO in the overall leadership and management of the organization, and ensures the implementation and strategy decisions are in line with the mission, vision, and values of the organization. Fosters a culture of patient and family centered care, service, quality and safety excellence, while improving patient experience, employee experience and community relations.

Essential Duties/Position Responsibilities:

  • Works closely with the CEO, STRIDE CHC staff, Executive Leadership Team, and the Board to develop and execute the organization’s strategic plan and organizational initiatives.
  • Translates the organization’s strategies, drives organizational change, and establishes greater transparency and accountability across the organization.
  • Researches and identifies new innovation opportunities to be implemented. Encourages all STRIDE CHC staff and leadership to participate in exploring innovated ideas and building plans to implement best practices.
  • Develops proposals and makes presentations to the Executive Leadership Team and others to assist in the continued growth of the organization and implementation of best practice opportunities and ideas.
  • Develops, analyzes, implements and maintains business development opportunities, as well as program development initiatives across STRIDE CHC.
  • Provides strategic and operational leadership and direction for the organization. Including participating and assisting in individual service line, department, and/or functional areas to formulate and implement strategic plans that guide the direction of the team’s business or its area of functional responsibility, such as developing a strategic marketing plan, guiding the implementation of a new project or program, or a process improvement project.
  • Monitors the environment in which the organization operates, synthesizing the impacts of economic, political, community and other outside influences and ensures environmental factors/impacts are effectively communicated to the CEO and Executive Leadership Team.
  • Maintain awareness of both the external and internal competitive landscape, opportunities for expansion, customers, markets, and new industry developments and standards. Be aware of any opportunities the organization can leverage and pursue for its advantage.
  • Ensures that all strategic and operational decisions are made according to sound business practices that will benefit the organization and its patient/clients, and balances the financial stability of the organization with its mission to provide services.
  • Directly and through the Executive Leadership Team provides leadership that drives the activities of the staff of the organization.
  • Develops and maintains strategic and operational relationships at the national, state and local level that will benefit the organization and support its mission.
  • Assists the CEO in evaluating the success of the organization. Including the analysis of budgeted plans and strategic objectives, and determining if goals where not achieved the reason(s) for not meeting our objectives.
  • Assists the CEO in evaluating the performance of the Executive Leadership Team through direct feedback and/or peer evaluations.
  • Assist the CEO in the overall operation and success of the organization.
  • Supports the organization and leadership when the CEO is unavailable and upon the CEO’s direction.
  • Sign documents and make commitments for the organization when the CEO is unavailable and upon the CEO’s direction, when necessary.
  • Attends all staff meetings and all other meetings as required.

Education and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in business, management, health or related field or experience equivalent to. Doctorate degree strongly desired.
  • 5 years of experience in senior management in health or related field

 

Skills & Expertise

  • Advanced reading and writing skills, verbal and written communications skills, knowledge of mathematics and science and other general knowledge
  • High level of expertise in all facets of the community health center system, including laws and regulations, standards and protocols, organization and management techniques and other industry knowledge and skills typically acquired through a combination of formal training and practical experience.
  • Knowledge of the practices of medicine, dentistry and mental health sufficient to understand their roles within the organization and the health care industry at large.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with practitioners and understand how to reconcile the needs of the practitioners with the financial prerogatives and business processes of the organization.
  • Knowledge of accounting and financial analysis practices sufficient to understand financial reports and the impact of financial performance on the organization’s operations.
  • Computer skills including the ability to prepare correspondence and reports in Microsoft Word, and summarize and report data in Excel spreadsheets.
  • Demonstrates a high level of leadership skill and dedication, and the ability to motivate both individuals and groups to act in the best interests of clients and the organization.
  • Demonstrates an appreciation and respect for the cultural diversity of the patients and employees of STRIDE CHC.
  • Demonstrates an appreciation for the rural setting and the challenges it brings in providing health services.
  • High level of ability to balance multiple and diverse projects of great significance, prioritize work and manage time for others.
  • Ability to establish and manage internal project budgets, timelines and expectations.

Tools you’ll use
Cell phone and Computer, iPad, printer, multi-line telephone systems, fax machine, copy machine, calculator, and all Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Excel and the internet.

 

We offer a competitive salary range of $130,000 - $165,000 depending on your experience.

This range reflects STRIDE’s good faith estimate of potential compensation at the time of posting. The final salary for the selected candidate will be determined based on several factors, including experience, education, budget, internal equity, specialty, and training.
