Wet Utilities Pipelayer

Job Summary:

We are seeking experienced and safety-focused Pipe Layers to join our growing Utility Division. This role involves the installation of water, sanitary sewer, and storm drain systems on private and public infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have experience working with various pipe materials, trench safety, and reading utility plans.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install underground water, storm, and sewer pipelines using proper techniques and tools.
• Align and grade pipe accurately using lasers, transits, and levels.
• Perform layout and bedding per project specifications.
• Cut, fit, and join pipe using hand tools, power tools, and machinery.
• Ensure proper backfilling and compaction around the installed pipe.
• Safely enter and exit trenches and confined spaces.
• Follow safety protocols, including trench safety and confined space procedures.
• Collaborate with operators, laborers, and foremen to ensure timely and accurate installations.
• Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and cut sheets.
• Conduct pre-installation inspections and post-installation tests (e.g., mandrel, air, water tests).
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in underground utility pipe installation.
• Familiarity with various pipe materials (PVC, DIP, RCP, HDPE, etc.).
• Ability to work in physically demanding conditions, including lifting and working in trenches.
• Knowledge of OSHA trench safety and confined space requirements.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license preferred.

• OSHA 10/30
• Confined Space Entry
• Trench Safety / Competent Person
• First Aid/CPR

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $32.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 35 per week
