**We are seeking a high energy, creative, organized and zealous Activities Director for our facility. The Activities Director will plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operations of the department to assure that an on-going program of activities is designed to meet, in accordance with the comprehensive assessment, the interests and the physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being of each resident. The Activities Director conducts social, religious, educational and service-related programs for the assisted living residents as directed. Said activities are experienced both within the community and in the community as a whole.**
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate and direct the Activity Programs of the Community.
- Plan and schedule movies, parties, games, projects, crafts, resources and field trips for residents at least one month in advance.
- Provide craft supplies, materials, library services, tapes, records and Braille reading materials and assist and supervise resident with activities.
- Provides training in the designing of creative activity programs daily, monthly and annually to meet the individual needs and interests of the residents.
- Provides mentoring in the planning and designing of the activities calendar each month including distribution the calendar to each resident, family members, and friends, and posting throughout the residence.
- Provides guidance on how to meet one-on-one with residents to assess appropriate programs for residents who cannot participate in group settings.
- Provides guidance on the transportation of residents to and from events outside of the residence, which may include driving the residence van/bus and how to monitor and account for residents when leaving or returning to the community.
- Manage the Activities department monthly budget
- Train the department staff on the need to train and engage community staff to help in the delivery of activities and other areas regarding the quality of life for residents.
- Provides guidance in identifying activities for special events at the residence, which includes residents, families, and friends.
- Schedule, facilitate and keep recorded minutes of Resident Council monthly meetings.
- Develops steps to identify community resources and contacts to enhance the quality of life for residents.
- Maintains friendly and concerned relationship with residents while upholding the Company’s policies and procedures.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises department team members and volunteers.
COMPANY WIDE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supports a dignified and caring atmosphere with residents, residents' families, visitors and team members.
- Protects privacy and confidentiality of information pertaining to the resident, team member, residence, company information and records.
- Maintains a safe and secure working environment and practices safe working habits.
- Complies with the attendance policy.
- Complies with the cell phone and social media policies.
- Maintains neat appearance, good personal hygiene and appropriate attire per dress code.
- Participates in training, in services and attends meetings when required.
- Assists with special projects as assigned and performs other related duties.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
