Position Overview:
As a Process Manager, your key responsibilities will include:
- Leading the steam plant area
- Understanding, using, and adhering to IP systems and policies (like Orange Book and Balance of Plant policies)
- Leading efforts in safety, production, cost efficiencies, reliability, team member engagement, and environmental performance to achieve or exceed targeted goals
- Driving operational excellence through superior manufacturing techniques, application of ME tools and principles, total quality principles, and Reliability Roadmap tools
- Providing leadership and resources to support engagement and high-performance work teams
- Developing and implementing manufacturing systems, including sustainability tools such as Trouble/Cause/Correction (TCC) and Centerlining
- Helping develop an organizational culture based upon values of empowerment, high involvement, and participative workforce in a customer-focused organization
- Leading total quality management processes to ensure highest quality production and customer standards meeting environmental requirements
- Maintaining and developing sustainable methods for all processes and improvements
- Managing team members to minimize downtime and maintain quality, setting clear expectations and holding them accountable
- Maintaining and developing team relationships
- Prioritizing daily and scheduled shutdown maintenance
- Working with suppliers to form good partnership relations and maximize Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) value
- Couching safety in others and leading by example
- Championing safety efforts by modeling and maintaining safe work practices and proactive approach to safety management
- Championing and fulfilling area-specific 5S Expectations (5-Minute 5S Checklists, Replenishment of tools and supplies, 5S Audits)
- Meeting internal and external customer requirements
- Developing and maintaining reliable methods for all processes and their improvements
- Maintaining and developing team relationships
- Managing communication efforts to support these initiatives
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate is a passionate Process Manager with deep experience in areas like Boiler Operation and Steam generation, working with Maintenance and Engineering, and optimizing projects and work orders.
They should have a proven ability to develop others, lead safe work practices, set good manufacturing practices, and develop administrative and operative systems.
A bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering and knowledge of International Paper Boiler Policy would be beneficial, along with GreenBelt Certification and Microsoft Project knowledge.
