Stronghold Engineering, Inc. an award winning Electrical, General and Civil Contractor is seeking a strong, experienced Project Manager for the General Construction Division.
Summary
Under the direction of the COO and Vice President of General Construction, the Project Manager is responsible for managing, coordinating, scheduling, and directing the daily details of projects including but not limited to; coordination of the project with Senior Management and Estimators that includes project planning, project scheduling, and project documentation. Additionally, the Project Manager is responsible for the coordination of sub-contractors and the procurement of materials as directed. Acts as a liaison between Stronghold Engineering, Inc. and personnel. The Project Manager works closely with Chief Operating Officer to complete the project ahead of schedule and within budget.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Creating and maintaining project budgets and schedules.
- Processing monthly billings by working with the Superintendent for each project to determine percentage of work complete.
- Manage projects effectively so they are completed within budget, providing overall profitability for the company.
- Ensure that submittals are submitted, received, corrected, approved and returned in a timely manner.
- Studies and understands the contract specifications, drawings, and associated scope of work requirements for each project before the project begins and during construction operations.
- Coordinates material deliveries and subcontractor work in accordance with the contract schedule and monitors changes during the project in order to adjust deliveries and subcontractors work schedules as necessary.
- Maintains organized documentations, specifications, estimates, submittals and contract drawings for each project.
- Makes effective use of database, spreadsheet and word-processing software to prepare statistical and written reports for management.
- Competently analyzes and prioritizes information to make appropriate recommendations.
- Oversees, motivates and evaluates field employees; provides or coordinates staff training; works with employees to correct deficiencies.
- Makes recommendations and assists in hiring process for field employees. Makes recommendations for termination of field employees as needed with HR.
- Prepares letters, reports and memorandums between Stronghold Engineering, Inc. and the government, engineers, architects, and subcontractors.
- Acts as a liaison and representative between Stronghold Engineering, Inc. and associated agencies or other Stronghold clients and their personnel.
- Assists the Project Superintendent in maintaining good customer and subcontractors relations.
- Assists the Project Superintendent with proper communications between the field and the office.
- Monitors and ensures adherence to all Stronghold Engineering, Inc., local, state and federal safety regulations at company job sites.
Qualifications
Education / Certificates / Licenses
- College Degree or related years of experience.
- Valid California Drivers License with a clean driving record.
Experience
- HCAI Experience preferred
- 5 years experience in managing civil projects
- Experience selecting and managing vendors.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of construction and related management strategies.
- Skilled at summarizing and analyzing information for budgeting revenues and expenses.
- Ability to establish priorities and following through on projects, paying close attention to detail with minimal supervision.
- Able to work in a productive manner independently and with others in a team environment.
- Excellent computer skills and proficient knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Project, Primavera and other project management software programs.
- Ability to read, interpret and understand plans, specifications, construction cost data and other contract documents to identify any errors, omissions, code violations and design inadequacies.
- Knowledge of materials, methods and tools involved in construction.
Working Conditions
- Depending upon the need of the position, work locations could be inside an office environment or directly on-site at a project location.
- While performing the essential functions of this job, depending upon work location, the employee may frequently be exposed to: dust, noise, chemicals and solvents.
- Exposure to power equipment and fast-moving trains.
- Job site visits as directed by supervisor.
Physician Demands
- Regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear.
- Frequently required to stand and walk.
- Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
