What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping and Receiving Clerk position at Structural Stone LLC?
Responsibilities
Handle both inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring efficient and accurate movement of goods, verifying inventory, maintaining accurate records, purchasing, as well as varied, basic office tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receiving and Unloading:
- Unloading incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders and packing lists, and ensuring proper storage.
- Shipping and Packaging:
- Preparing granite samples for shipment, packing samples securely, scheduling shipping, and printing shipping labels. This may require coordination with the plant.
- Inventory Management:
- Maintaining accurate inventory of supplies, tracking stock levels, and identifying shortages, & re-ordering when required.
- Documentation:
- Completing necessary paperwork, such as shipping orders, bills of lading, and receiving records.
- Damage and Discrepancy Handling:
- Inspecting incoming shipments for damage or shortages, and reporting any issues to relevant parties.
- Communication:
- Collaborating with other departments, such as sales, accounting, and logistics, to ensure smooth operations.
- Other Tasks:
- Sorting and stocking inventory, operating a dolly, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. General office tasks include, but are not limited to answering the phone, data entry, and assisting guests & peers.
