2025 Undergraduate Summer Intern
LOCATION & DURATION
All internships will be based in our South San Francisco, CA and will be in-person minimum 4 days a week in the office. This internship starts in late June 2025 for approximately 10-12 weeks. This is a temporary role working up to 40 hours per week and the hourly rate is $30/hour.
Position Summary
We are looking for a motivated Data Science Intern to join our team. This internship provides an opportunity to work on real-world data challenges, apply analytical skills, and gain hands-on experience with data visualization techniques, machine learning modeling and applying generative AI models. The intern will contribute to the development of internal data science tools and assist in building innovative generative AI-powered projects. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and assist with creating data-driven solution to support business decisions.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
The target hourly rate for this intern role is $30.00 an hour. Structure Therapeutics determines salary ranges based on level and scope of responsibilities, as well as location. Individual pay is further determined by additional factors, including relevant experience, specific job skills, education and training. Students will be on their own for housing, benefits, transportation, etc., and need to provide adequate work authorization to work for any US employer through the duration of the program.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Assist in enhancing the existing data visualization platform by contributing to its development, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.
- Process, clean, and validate data to ensure its accuracy and reliability for analysis.
- Research on recent generative AI innovations and assist on developing and implementing AI models under guidance from senior data scientist.
- Collaborate with cross functional units to understand business needs and gather insights to support internal data science tool development.
- Document modules, implementation details, parameter specifications and experiments to ensure integrity and reproducibility.
- Present data science solution in a clear manner.
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Strong programming skills in R and Python.
- Familiarity with data science libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
- Understanding of statistical concepts, data analysis techniques, and machine learning algorithms.
- Knowledge of data visualization tools such as ggplot2. Plotly, Matplotlib or Seaborn.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- A full-time student in an accredited program with plans to return to school in the fall
- All applicants must be at least 18 years of age by June 1, 2025.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) is a plus.
- Exposure to big data technologies such as Spark or Hadoop.
- Previous experience with real-world data projects, Kaggle competitions, or research work.
- Experienced with Github.
