General Position Overview

You will work on the installation of cabling (cat5, cat6, fiber, rj45, multi-conductor 24-12 ga. cables) and other Low Voltage related tasks, Lead workforce on assigned project(s), maintain all necessary paperwork, processes, enforce safety protocols, enforce OSHA related rules and regulations, supervise and direct sub-contractors, attend customer meetings, have problem-solving positive results.

Position Overview/Duties

  • Field Technical Lead
  • Install equipment, and materials
  • Install Cat5, Enhanced Cat5, and Cat6 and other low voltage Structured Cable Distribution Systems.
  • Install outlets; pull cable; fire stopping and pre-termination including organizing, forming, dressing, and labeling cables to industry standards.
  • Accurately test copper and fiber (multimode and single mode) cables to required certification parameters utilizing appropriate test equipment as required.
  • Removal and demolition of abandoned cables.
  • Maintain and reference industry standards including ANSI, EIA/TIA, and Local and National Electric Code.
  • Perform site surveys and conduct visual site inspections.
  • Install grounding infrastructure and perform grounding tests.
  • Perform cable splices for copper wiring.
  • Identify active circuits.
  • Ability to make drawing edits.
  • Ability to assist Lead Technician III in maintaining job site in their absence.
  • Ability to communicate with articulation, to the GC, Sub-Contractors, and other job entities.
  • Accurately present a look ahead, at least a week ahead for parts and materials.
  • Ability to work with and connect fiber
  • Ability to work as a team
  • Ability to lead level I and II technicians
  • Understand and familiarity CCTV, Access Control, Phone, Audio, Video, networking, Door Hardware, Security, Fire Alarm, and other Low voltage controls/sensors.
  • Equipment inventory tracking, installation, forecasting, ordering, and returns.

  • Required to walk, sit and use hands to pull cables and wires, use power tools, work in awkward positions and climb ladders and/or scaffolding.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, and color vision.
  • The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud and employee may be exposed to outside weather elements.

We are hiring a Cable Puller to work at project sites on a full-time basis. You will work on the installation of cabling (cat5, cat6, fiber, rj45) and other Low Voltage related tasks.
