We have a unique opportunity for someone to join our team. We are currently seeking a mid-level Shop Mechanic with their Class A CDL or desire to get their Class A CDL. The ideal candidate should have entry to mid-level mechanical skills & abilities, having either worked in a mechanic shop, or fixed farming or other equipment. Maintaining the shop in an organized fashion with other duties assigned is key to ensuring our fleet of construction equipment is ready to mobilize to the jobsites.
As a delivery driver, the ideal candidate will haul materials and equipment to jobsites, safely load and unload construction equipment as well as perform maintenance on the construction equipment. This position will be a combination of both an over the road and local driver and will be responsible for the safe and on-time deliveries of equipment and material to jobsites throughout the country.
Applicant must live within 60 miles of the company shop located in Chaska, MN.
Essential Functions:
- Skilled at doing routine maintenance on construction equipment in the field or at the shop.
- Ability to learn from experts on the job and in the classroom.
- Ability to load and unload the truck with construction equipment and materials, which may include but not limited to skid steers, excavators, compactors, etc. Must be able to safely operate construction equipment.
- Desire & ability to operate a semi-tractor to deliver equipment and materials to jobsites.
- Follow all DOT regulations (Pre-trip inspection, E-logs, trip records, etc.).
Position Requirements:
- Experience with equipment maintenance and repair, including fabrication.
- Valid and current CDL class A driver's license with airbrake endorsement and DOT medical card, or desire to get class A CDL.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Ideally 6 - 12 months of verifiable tractor trailer driving experience with clear motor vehicle record.
- Preferred experience with loading and unloading of materials and equipment.
- Preferred experience with operating different types of construction equipment.
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills, including ability to communicate with internal and external customers.
- Staggered start to first shift to cover needs in the shop; 10am – 6pm desired.
- May be asked to work occasional weekends depending on need and schedules; will be given that time back during the week for work-life balance.
