Project Manager – Roofing (RRO or RRC)
Job Responsibilities
As a Project Manager, you will have responsibility overall for the projects assigned. Approximately 80% of your time will be spent performing billable tasks in coordination with the project assignments, while the other 20% of your focus will be working on special projects/assignments, training, and assisting in building infrastructure.
The Roofing Project Manager can be located and work out of any of our office locations which include: Kalamazoo, MI, Detroit, MI, Cincinnati, OH, Chicago, IL, Pittsburgh, PA.
Your specific duties as a Project Manager will include:
1. Assist marketing team in proposal development, including project manpower requirements, team, scope, schedule, contracts, and interviews.
2. Plan, execute, and monitor project scope and manpower requirements/fees, including review of job status reports.
3. Primary contact with Client—coordinate information and communications between Owner and team, review scope changes, make design presentations, review/approve Contractor invoices, and work with responsible director for fee billings.
4. Coordinate project team, team meetings, information between departments, and workloads with departments.
5. Coordinate outside consultants with Owner and Project Team, including consultant selection and communications.
6. Coordinate review and compliance with appropriate code authorities, including communication, review, and applications.
7. If registered/certified, responsible for sealing/documentation of project and team.
8. Maintain and coordinate project files.
9. Complete assignments efficiently in a timely and complete manner as required by the project and/or supervisor.
10. Perform miscellaneous corporate projects, as assigned (special projects, seminars).
Job Requirements
As a Project Manager, you must be a dependable team player with a strong work ethic. You must also be highly organized and detail-oriented with strong time management and prioritization skills. It is also important that you display excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills as well as a commitment to customer satisfaction.
Specific qualifications for the Project Manager position include:
- RRC/RRO/CDT preferred
- 5-7 years minimum experience in Roof Consulting
- Degree in Architecture/Restoration Engineering
- Knowledge and experience in field inspection in the following roofing systems Required:
o Built-up
o Single-Ply
o Cold/Torch applied modified
o EPDM, TPO & PVC
o Sheet metal
- Thorough understanding of the following techniques and procedures:
o Evaluation Phase
o Design/Development
o Construction Documents – Experience writing and editing specifications
o Bidding
o Construction Review and Administration/Support Field Operations:
o Maintenance Program
- Continuing education through RCI/CSI
- Desire to obtain professional Certification
- Must have skills to write technical reports and letters.
- Good communication skills to effectively work with Clients from beginning design to post construction.
- Knowledge of project management process as it relates to the business.
- Knowledgeable in construction, such as industry standards, materials, codes, contracts, bidding processes, etc.
- Knowledge in Q.C./Q.A. standards of commercial roof assemblies
- Desire to pursue continuing education and certification programs (CSI, RCI).
- Willingness to contribute to a teamwork-oriented environment.
