Stryker Medical -
Sage is hiring a Quality Control Chemist III located in Cary, Illinois! The QC Chemist III is responsible for performing advanced analytical analysis of raw materials, in-process solutions, stability, finished goods, cleaning samples, as well as general laboratory support. Additionally, responsibilities outside the laboratory include Phase I, II, and laboratory related investigations and complex data reviews.

What you will do
-

  • Executes complex Phase I, II, and nonconformances for laboratory related investigations.

  • Responsible for conducting complex data review generated from routine and non-routine testing.

  • Performs routine and non-routine analysis for raw materials, in-process solutions, stability, and finished goods including, but not limited to identification testing, refractive index, density, viscosity, water activity, pH, appearance, taste, and smell testing. Additionally, perform more advanced testing such as limits tests, titration, water determination, assay, and impurities testing.

  • Conducts pharmaceutical water testing including but not limited to nitrate testing, total organic carbon (TOC), and conductivity.

  • Responsible for analytical analysis of cleaning validation and surveillance samples.

  • Prepare solutions used for routine and non-routine analysis, such as buffers and diluents.

  • Responsible for execution of method and equipment verification/validation protocols.

  • Manages sample coordination prior to and following testing activities.

  • Performs laboratory maintenance activities including but not limited to equipment preventative maintenance, calibration, disposal of waste, and cleaning laboratory areas.

  • Performs other activities as needed.

What you need-

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Microbiology or a Science is required.

  • 6 years working in a GxP laboratory environment.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills (English).

  • Experience working in current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) or other cGxP environments.

  • Experience with common laboratory equipment such as balances, graduated cylinders, etc.

  • Experience with common analytical methods such as chromatography, spectroscopy, etc.

  • Experience with updating, developing, and validating analytical methods and equipment.

Preferred

  • Masters Degree or higher in Chemistry or Microbiology.

  • Experience conducting laboratory investigations and performing data analysis.

  • Experience working with laboratory systems such as Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and TrackWise.
