Position Summary
The Sierra National Forest is looking for two interns studying or interested in gaining on the ground forestry experience. This is a 12-week long internship to support and assist the Sierra National Forest in various aspects of timber sale preparation, including timber sale marking and other silvicultural tasks.

Report writing as needed.
Required Qualifications
Applicants need to be studying forestry preferably at Reedley College or have a degree in Forestry.
This SCA Position is authorized under the Public Land Corps Authority. All participants must be between the ages of 16 and 30, inclusive, or veterans age 35 or younger. Participants must also be a citizen or national of the United States or lawful permanent resident alien of the United States. Hours served can be applied toward the Public Land Corps (PLC) hiring authority.

Housing provided by the Sierra National Forest at no cost to member.
Compensation
$400/week Living Allowance
$1,100 Travel Allowance
$1,956 AmeriCorps Education Award upon completion of no less than 450 hours of service.
All allowances are subject to applicable federal, state, and local taxes.
