What are the responsibilities and job description for the STUDENT - (AY24/25) Student Writer (College Communications) position at Student?
The Ithaca College Office of Marketing Communications is seeking student writers for the upcoming academic year. In this role, students will write stories that highlight achievements by students, faculty, staff, and alumni in ways that promote student recruitment, alumni engagement, and campus pride. They will also cover campus events that highlight the unique learning and recreational opportunities available to IC students. Writers will have the opportunity to earn a spot shadowing a member of the professional staff on a beat covering a specific school and/or area of the college.
The ideal candidate will not only have strong writing and interviewing skills, but, critically, an understanding and appreciation of how storytelling can be used to strengthen branding and reputation. Candidates should be able to craft well-written, timely stories and eventually pitch story ideas that resonate with the intended audience. Evening and weekend event coverage may be required.
Pay Rate: $15.00
