As a BDR at Sturdy, you’ll work shoulder-to-shoulder with our Portland-based revenue leadership team and be responsible for generating new business opportunities by identifying, engaging, and qualifying potential customers. This is an outbound job. You'll have to hustle, but we have the tools and data to make you efficient. You’ll work closely with our sales and marketing teams to drive pipeline growth and set the foundation for successful sales conversations.
- Prospect & Engage: Reach out to potential customers through cold-calling targeted prospects that we’ve identified as likely receiving value from our platform. This is not a research job. To be successful, you will need to be motivated to engage prospects over the phone. We have the technology to make this efficient and repeatable.
- Qualify Leads: Conduct discovery calls to understand business needs, assess fit, and schedule meetings for Account Executives.
- Own the Outreach Strategy: Collaborate with marketing to refine and test messaging, test new engagement strategies, and optimize outbound efforts.
- Stay Ahead of the Market: Learn and communicate Sturdy’s value proposition effectively, keeping up with industry trends and competitors.
- Learn and Grow: You will learn how to sell and how not to sell from industry veterans who have a vested interest in your success and career growth.
- 1 years of experience in sales, business development, or similar customer-facing roles (preferably in SaaS or B2B tech).
- Strong communication skills—comfortable talking to executives and key decision-makers.
- A proactive, self-motivated approach with a hunter mentality—you don’t wait for opportunities, you create them.
- Ability to handle rejection and stay persistent—this role requires resilience and a growth mindset.
- Strong organizational skills—ability to manage multiple leads and follow-ups effectively.
