About the Job
As the Key Account Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the customer service operations and driving the growth of customer accounts managed by a team of Account Managers. The Key Account Manager works as a team to establish in depth customer knowledge and create strategic growth plans and goals for each customer managed by your team. This is a salaried position with full-time hours, located at our office in Cedar Rapids, IA.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and support a team of direct reports, including setting performance goals, conducting regular evaluations, providing coaching and development opportunities, and fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Build a keen understanding of each customer to identify critical account information including product, industry, annual truck load spend, markets served, lane volumes, critical business needs/goals and challenges, and reporting hierarchy to the decision maker and beyond.
- Create a Strategic Account Plan for each customer to further solidify our relationship and move Stutsman Logistics, Inc. from a transactional provider to a trusted advisor.
- Develop, schedule and deliver periodic business reviews with each customer.
- Use KPIs to measure and manage team and individual production, including service, customer growth, revenue, load count and margin.
- Assist in the coordination of network bids including rate development, determination of capacity needs, preferred lane identification, post bid reviews and customer feedback.
- Proactively identify discrepancies and develop practical and thoughtful solutions to resolve customer complaints and improve service processes, as needed.
- Maintain a global perspective in growth and service strategies, understanding diverse customer needs, and adapting to various cultural contexts.
- Continuously develop person skills and potential, as well as that of the Account Manager team by providing technical support and leadership.
- Manage assigned customer relationships and perform standard account manager functions for those accounts.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Must have at least 3 years of prior work experience in an office setting, experience in the logistics industry is preferred.
- Prior sales experience is preferred, but not required.
- Possesses working knowledge of Office 365 products.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical abilities.
- Ability to clearly convey information and instructions to both customers and team members, ensuring understanding and satisfaction.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and take initiative with a solution-oriented mindset in the event of discrepancy.
- Possesses strong leadership skills that can be used to build relationships, motivate, and guide the team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
