Position Overview:

A Training and Development Instructor completes tasks associated with the training of the process of Power Conductor manufacturing and associated support processes based on training policies and procedures (SPIM and SW Documents). As well as developing employees in their current positions to cultivate a safe and retainable workforce. The Trainer works with the Department Manager, Supervisors and Lead people to constantly improve the long-term capabilities of the area(s) assigned. Facilitates and delivers internal learning solutions and develops in-house training programs as assigned. The ideal candidate will measure production quality and quantity and applies learning tools to improve both.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Conducts training and educational programs, on-the-job training, and employee orientation.
  • Facilitates learning solutions, prepares individual training plans according to adult learning theory and provides a high-impact, interactive environment (within 90 days).
  • Conduct, plan, and coordinate training to a variety of audiences in a multi-cultural workplace.
  • Tracks and analyzes learning curriculum effectiveness through the preparation and execution of various evaluation techniques, including the evaluation of individual performance. Support, together with the Shift Supervisor, the 30/60/90-day performance evaluation of employees.
  • Collaborates with training team to assess, design, develop and maintain training solutions and components to refine learning tools and techniques.
  • Maintains records of all training, the competency matrix, and coordinates with the Quality Department to maintain all Training and Certification (T&CP) Programs.
  • Improves associates' job-related skills; Develops, Maintains, and Applies learning tools (methods, checklists and skill building agreements) to encourage cross-functional development.
  • Identifies areas for team cross-training and supports and implements the training to obtain the objectives of employee retention and succession planning.
  • Maintains expert-level knowledge of the Power Conductor processes; evaluates and improves processes within work areas in conjunction with the Process Engineer(s) and Technician(s).
  • Knowledge of PC application/programs required to successfully perform their duties (Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Develops onboarding programs for new employees.
  • Will attend educational conferences (as applicable) in the best interest of the company.
  • Has a servant leader mentality while promoting safety and 6S principles.
  • Manages classes with attendees of diverse levels of competencies and varying educational needs.
  • Strong public speaking and communication skills (written and oral).
  • Multilingual (is a plus) to bridge communication gaps in the workspace.
  • Provides manufacturing support as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • High school diploma or equivalency
  • Candidate must be certified at a Tradesperson 1 level in the Power Conductor Department.
  • One or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment and/or training role preferred
  • Knowledge of company policies, procedure, goals, and objectives.
  • Ability to develop, plan and implement training programs.
  • Possess the ability to react to changes of responsibility throughout the day.
  • Strong verbal, written, organizational, multi-tasking and time management skills with the ability to set expectation and communicate goal and objectives.
  • The ability to work a rotating shift supporting all manufacturing work shifts on the 4 x 4 schedule is required.
  • The ability to speak multiple languages is a plus.
