Position Overview
The UI/UX Summer Intern will report directly to Yunlu Xu (Director Software Development, Department 4620), working closely with other team members to support design initiatives of NMS products, contribute to ongoing projects, review previous software GUI implementation and provide suggestions for improving user experience.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
- Assist in improving the GUI of the Network Management System (NMS) to enhance usability.
- Conduct user research and usability testing to identify design improvements.
- Support design iterations based on feedback from users and stakeholders.
Nonessential Functions:
- Contribute to NMS requirement/design documentation.
- Stay updated on UI/UX trends and suggest new ideas.
Qualifications
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficiency in UI/UX design tools.
- Basic understanding of HTML/CSS and responsive design.
- Strong knowledge of user-centered design principles.
- Good communication and collaboration skills.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a degree program in Graphic Design, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Basic UI/UX design knowledge or relevant coursework.
Success Factors:
- Attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- Strong collaboration skills and adaptability.
- Creativity and ability to learn quickly.
