What are the responsibilities and job description for the Substance Abuse Group Facilitator position at Substance Abuse Treatment Outpatient Facility?
Position Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Group Facilitator to join our outpatient substance abuse treatment team. This role is essential in providing supportive and effective group therapy sessions for individuals in recovery, fostering a safe environment for healing, growth, and empowerment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and facilitate group counseling sessions focused on substance abuse recovery, relapse prevention, life skills, and emotional regulation.
- Create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and confidential environment for clients to share and engage.
- Utilize evidence-based therapeutic approaches, such as CBT, DBT, and motivational interviewing, to support group discussions.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure the integration of individual treatment plans into group sessions.
- Monitor group dynamics and provide crisis intervention as needed.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of group sessions, attendance, and client progress.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and case reviews.
- Uphold ethical and professional standards in compliance with state regulations and organizational policies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Certification in substance abuse counseling (e.g., CADC, LCADC) is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience facilitating therapeutic groups, particularly in a substance abuse or behavioral health setting.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong understanding of addiction, recovery models, and co-occurring disorders.
- Ability to manage group dynamics and foster a supportive environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50.00 - $75.00 per hour
