What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager of Transportation position at SUBURBAN ADULT SERVICES INC.?
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Manage fleet & transportation for all facilities.
- Provides logistics for agency vehicle use and assignment of vehicles.
- Facilitates vehicle preventative maintenance program and repairs.
- Provides notification to location of assigned vehicle for needed service or repairs.
- Procures parts and equipment required for vehicle maintenance.
- Facilitates reports for tracking maintenance and condition issues of fleet vehicles.
- Makes recommendations for vehicle replacement and future needs.
- Provide vehicle specifications for modified vans and other vehicles as requested.
- Routinely inspects agency vehicles for condition and unreported problems.
- Develops and coordinates transportation routes in conjunction with the transportation assistant and contracted transporters.
- Works with contracted transporters to address customer concerns, incidents and events as per agency procedures.
- Facilitates transportation databases to track the fleet, routes and to provide information required by the agency and state or federal payers.
- Provide training to programs as requested regarding vehicle operation and pre-trip inspections. Conduct random inspections to ensure safety training is implemented.
- Works with vendors and families to coordinate the process to install OPWDD approved “Assistive Technology” to modify vans.

Required Qualification:
- High School Graduate plus at least three (3) years paid experience in automotive service and fleet management, or related field.
- Prior supervisory experience preferred.
