Position Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) Manager to oversee all EH&S operations at our metal fabrication manufacturing facility. This individual will lead and manage the EH&S department and be responsible for creating, implementing, and monitoring safety programs, policies, and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all employees. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment and a strong understanding of EH&S regulations specific to metal fabrication or similar industries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Strategy:
- Lead the development and execution of the company’s environmental, health, and safety programs, ensuring alignment with corporate safety culture and goals.
- Manage, mentor, and support a team of Safety committee, ensuring clear roles, responsibilities, and efficient operation of EHS functions across the facility.
- Provide leadership and direction for ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local EHS regulations.
- Collaborate with management and production teams to create a culture of safety, driving continuous improvement in EH&S performance.
- Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements relevant to the metal fabrication industry and keep the facility up to date with all changes in legislation.
- Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and mitigate risks associated with the facility's operations, equipment, and processes.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of EH&S regulations, standards, and industry best practices.
- Develop and oversee the implementation of emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures, fire drills, and safety protocols.
- Training & Awareness:
- Develop, implement, and deliver training programs to all employees, including new hires, refresher courses, and specialized safety training for specific processes or equipment.
- Ensure employees are properly trained in safe work practices, emergency procedures, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Promote EH&S awareness across all departments through regular safety meetings, communications, and safety initiatives.
- Incident Management & Reporting:
- Oversee the investigation of workplace incidents and accidents, ensuring thorough root cause analysis and the implementation of corrective actions.
- Prepare and submit reports to regulatory agencies as required and maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all safety-related incidents, audits, and inspections.
- Track and report on EH&S performance metrics, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
- Environmental Compliance:
- Ensure environmental compliance related to waste management, chemical handling, air emissions, and wastewater treatment.
- Work closely with environmental agencies to ensure that all processes adhere to environmental regulations and sustainability goals.
- Implement programs to minimize environmental impacts and promote sustainability across operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
- 3-5 years of experience in an EH&S role in a manufacturing environment, with a preference for metal fabrication experience.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, environmental laws, and industry-specific safety standards.
- Proven experience leading safety programs, conducting risk assessments, and managing compliance in a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and educate employees at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement continuous improvement processes.
- Certification in safety or environmental management (e.g., Certified Safety Professional (CSP), OSHA 30-Hour, NEBOSH) is preferred.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Position type and Expected Hours of Work:
- This is a full-time position on a 4-10 hour work schedule (Mon-Thurs). Due to the nature and demands of this role, flexibility is required to work outside of normal work schedule.
- This is an on-site position.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with potential exposure to noise, machinery, and industrial hazards.
