Our client, a leading healthcare organization, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Operating Room Nurse Manager to oversee the daily operations of a high-volume, multi-specialty Operating Room (OR) department in West Los Angeles. Position OverviewThe Operating Room Nurse Manager will be responsible for 24-hour management of OR operations, ensuring high-quality, cost-effective, and patient-centered care. This role involves staff leadership, budgeting, resource management, and process improvement while working closely with a multidisciplinary team, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff.
Key Responsibilities- Lead & Manage a team of 47 direct reports, including 13 OR RNs, fostering professional development and team collaboration.
- Oversee daily OR operations, ensuring efficient patient flow, adherence to protocols, and best practices.
- Develop & Manage OR Budget, including resource allocation, equipment procurement, and staffing.
- Maintain & Implement Clinical Standards, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Drive Quality & Safety Initiatives, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and patient-centered care.
- Collaborate with Surgeons, Anesthesiologists, and Healthcare Professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
- Address Patient & Physician Concerns with professionalism and efficiency.
- Manage HR Functions, including performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and staff development.
- Contribute to Strategic Planning and innovation for OR services.
- High-Volume OR: 1,100 cases per month across multiple surgical specialties.
- Diverse Specialties: General Surgery, ENT, GYN, Robotic Surgery, Bariatrics, Plastics & Reconstructive Surgery, Orthopedics (Joint Replacements & Sports Medicine), and Gender Reassignment Surgery.
- Exclusions: This location does not perform spine, heart, or neuro cases.
- BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing)
- Minimum 5 years of recent full-time Operating Room RN experience (Ambulatory Surgery Center experience not accepted).
- Minimum 3 years of recent full-time Operating Room Manager or Supervisor experience (Charge Nurse experience does not qualify; minimal Ambulatory Surgery Center experience may be considered).
- MSN (Master of Science in Nursing)
- CNOR (Certified Nurse Operating Room) certification
- Experience managing in a union environment
