Our ever growing company is seeking experienced Underwriters who will be responsible for the timely and accurate evaluation and approval / denial of loan applications according to agency and investor guidelines. This role will be responsible for assessing the risk of a loan and making a credit decision based on the quality of the data in the loan file. Essential Job Functions : Ensures that all lending conditions have been satisfactorily met prior to closing. Ensures the marketability of closed loans and the safety of Credit Union assets. Analyzing credit documents, including, but not limited to, mortgage applications, credit history and income documents, tax documents, title documents, appraisals and all applicable compliance documents. Assesses potential borrower's assets. Ensures that assets meet closing requirements, are derived from acceptable sources, and that acceptable levels of reserves will remain after closing. Skills / Abilities and Experience Requirements : Minimum of 5 years solid underwriting experience Experience with VA, FHA, and Conventional loans. Knowledge and familiarity with current mortgage and compliance laws and regulations. Strong commitment to customer service and satisfaction. Effective business communication skills (both oral and written) Sound judgment, analytical and decision-making abilities Desirable Traits Well versed in USDA and other bond programs Encompass experience preferred.
