Success Rehabilitation is a residential and day treatment rehabilitation program for adults with traumatic brain injury.
We are hiring 1 full-time med technician!
The Medication Technician's primary responsibility is assisting in the administration and monitoring of medication and treatments for clients under the supervision of the RN/LPN. The Medication Technician/Aide may serve as a Practicum Observer once certification is completed and conduct annual medication practicums for staff.
Reports to: Nurse Manager
The Medication Technician will also assist with other client-related tasks as assigned and will assist with non-clinical tasks in the Medication Room such as filing, shredding, copying and proper maintenance of client medical records.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in the administration of medication and treatments per physician and nursing orders as listed on the MAR and TAR.
- Assist in completing annual medication practicums and MAR reviews as assigned per procedures of the DHS Medication Administration program for non-licensed staff after proper certification as a Practicum Observer.
- Promptly report any medication or other incidents, health concerns or other significant changes in health status as per Chain of Command and document as required.
- Responsible for appropriate documentation in and maintenance of client Medical Records.
- Assist clients with ADLs, as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED. Meets all requirements for Direct Care Staff and successfully completes DHS Competency Exam.
- CNA license preferred.
- Certification to administer medications and treatments per DHS Medication Administration Training Program.
- Minimum of one year experience assisting in the administration of medication and treatments with minimal medication and/or count errors in the past year and demonstration of good documentation with minimal errors.
- Minimum of one year experience working with TBI population or other special populations.
- CBIS or CBIS eligible at next class.
- Associate or bachelor's degree in a field related to Human Services.
- Excellent organizational and verbal and written communication skills; demonstrates initiative.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Experience working with computers, technology, and programs such as Word and Excel.
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATIONS
- Valid Driver’s License
- Certification in CPR and First Aid
