The Director of Operations will be responsible for the assigned Final Mile product offering in an operational capacity. Responsible for overseeing the overall operations performance of all operations under their purview. This position will drive financial performance of the Final Mile product to achieve a desired return on revenue.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the implementation and operations of the company strategy
Assist with Annual Business Plan development and implementation for product line
Identify gaps and opportunities across the network, driving key strategic initiatives, and implementing new systems and processes
Ensure operations are trained on weekly forecasting and provide oversight utilizing appropriate technology
Performs financial reporting and analysis and implements changes with the Operational Leadership
Support and provide coaching to the local operations leaders on financial literacy to ensure profitability by location
Oversee Financial performance of the operations
Develop and oversee operational organization structure and implement changes or structural redesign as necessary
Provide continued management of the agent and customer relationships
Develop and Implement Standard Operating Procedures to drive process improvement
Provide contract management of agent contracts, to include; Expirations and re-bid processes, new bid opportunities and headcount additions / deductions
Provide clear, concise status reports, metrics and updates to senior leadership
Participate in pre-sales presentations and discussions with customers as needed
Assist sales team with scoping projects and developing proposals
QUALIFICATONS

Education & Experience :
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university required. Master’s degree preferred. Must possess a minimum of 8 years of experience in transportation, logistics, final mile or supply-chain related field. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted. Minimum of 3 years in a Senior Operations Management level role.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Knowledge of financial planning and forecasting required. Demonstrates financial understanding and the implications of financial decisions. Ability to manage time effectively and consistently meet deadlines. Ability to adapt and manage effectively in a fast paced, changing environment. Ability to deal with all types of contracts using effective diplomacy and interpersonal skills. Strong planning and organizational skills. Ability to work in a team environment and demonstrate flexibility and patience. Must possess a high level of analytical ability and problem-solving skills to resolve complex problems and analyze data and information accurately. Ability to express ideas clearly (verbal and written) to individuals and in group situations. Excellent communication, decision making, and problem-solving skills. Superior communications, presentation and analytical skills. Ability to work under minimal supervision and with a strong sense of self-motivation.
Travel :
Ability to travel within the United States up to 25% of the time.
