What are the responsibilities and job description for the Wedding & Event Captain position at SUGAR BOWL SKI RESORT?
To provide excellent guest service at all events, internal and external. Be knowledgeable about our food and wines, never say no, be a great team player. Help in setup and breakdown of events, help maintain cleanliness of facilities and wares. Direct Front of House Staff in all aspects of service.

Situated atop beautiful Donner Summit, Sugar Bowl has a storied past with ties to Austrian ski culture, Hollywood and Walt Disney. Who you are
- 2 years of server or bartender experience
- Basic Knowledge of computer operating systems
- RBS training
- CA Food Handlers certification
- 1 year of supervisory experience minimum
What you will do
- Own and follow timeline of event
- Delegate tasks to front of house staff and follow up
- Have professional interactions with third party planners
- Work in tandem with the Wedding and Event Coordinator and all Managers
- Ensure top notch service at all times
- Be positive and proactive
- Serving of plates of food and beverages
- Direct banquet and event setup and breakdown
- Taking of food and beverage orders from guest
- Assisting other staff in expediting of food and beverages.
- Direct running of buffets, family style and plated service
- Assist in cocktail service, sometimes at top of Mt Disney
- Addressing guest service situations
- Assisting in all types of catered events
- Ensuring that opening and closing checklist procedures are completed
- Checking of identification to ensure an individual is of legal drinking age
- Polishing, vacuuming, and general cleaning of food service areas
- Settling of all moneys, cc transactions, tills assigned
- Handling of hot food service items
- Be an exemplary team player
- Be on time for shifts in designated uniform, be the example.
