Sugar Land Space Cowboys Associate Position is intended for individuals with a strong desire to gain real-world work experience, as well as a desire to work hard and give their best. Learning potential is endless in these positions. Candidates will get as much out of the experience as what they put into it. This is not an internship, it is seasonal employment that runs March to October, is paid, and will expect the candidate to contribute day in and day out.
Summary/Objective:
The Guest Services Intern will be exposed to all facets of a Triple-A Minor League Baseball organization and will gain practical, in-depth experience. This intern plays an integral role in ballpark operations and guest services on game days and assists our game day staff including ushers, ticket takers, customer service staff, parking attendants, manual scoreboard, Fun Zone activity areas and ballpark supervisors. Intern must consistently monitor assigned area for duration of game. This position will also assist with non-game day events such as ballpark tours, company events, festivals, etc.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

- Assist in game day and non-game day event preparation and execution, including pre-game and post-game duties.
- Responsible for providing superior customer service via written, phone and face-to-face communication in response to guest related issues and concerns, and documenting the action taken to resolve incidents
- Assist in executing processes related to the scheduling of the Guest Services, Ushers and Kids Zone Staff.
- Inform leadership of issues and on-going problems, offering suggestions for solutions; follow-up to ensure issues are addressed and problems resolved within the department in a timely manner.
- Attend all homestand meetings and ballpark walks and stay up to date on the policies and procedures of Constellation Field.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays. Must be available to work weekdays, weeknights and weekends.
- Must be able to stand for up to four (4) hours at a time in an outside environment.
Education and/or Experience & Skills:
Required
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- In pursuit or recent completion of a Bachelor’s degree in related fields is preferred.
- High level of professionalism with ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment.
- Highly motivated with strong work ethic.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and handle numerous assignments simultaneously while working in an outdoor environment.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Capable of following job guidelines and supervisor’s instructions.
- Have a passion for baseball.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position assists in managing all part-time employees within the stadium operations department.
Work Environment
This job operates both in an office setting and in an outdoor stadium setting. The noise level is usually moderate but can be loud within the stadium environment. Most roles in this job will be expected to work outdoor in various weather conditions, including heat.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position requires the ability to lift bulky items weighing as much as forty pounds. The job duties require standing for long periods coupled with extensive mobility throughout the various levels and areas of the ballpark. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and focused vision.
