Description:
This position supports the VP of HR & Safety in leading, directing, developing, and coordinating human resources policies, activities, and staff to ensure legal compliance and implementation of the organization's mission and talent strategy.
The role involves recruitment and retention strategy development, new employee onboarding, tracking of employment-related documentation, and compensation structure analysis.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Develops and implements organizational human resources policies, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local legislation.
- Directs recruiting and onboarding for new employees.
- Develops and deploys training and career development programs.
- Analyzes and recommends salary structures or wage schedules.
- Evaluates and selects HR-related vendors or service providers.
- Assists senior management in developing human resource strategies.
- Create and implement employee relations strategies to increase employee job satisfaction.
- Recruitment and onboarding of management-level employees.
- Supports and drives recruitment strategy for the hourly workforce.
- Assists with benefits selection, administration, costing, implementation, and policy interpretation.
- Knowledge of HRIS platforms preferred.
- Attention to detail, ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, results-driven.
- Responsible for all human resource activities, including recruitment, employment, compensation, and training.
- Coordinates distribution/communication of projects and programs.
- Provides support to Plant HRSM/PM/VP's related to all HR and employee relations matters.
- Conducts exit interviews with employees; communicates findings to management.
- Represents the organization with employment-related hearings and investigations.
- Conducts investigations into company-policy violations.
- Utilizes online resources for company recruiting – Indeed, LinkedIn, etc.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) and five years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Demonstrate competence with compensation strategies and market analysis.
- Fluent in HR laws and regulations.
- Basic competence in duties and tasks of supervised employees.
- Demonstrated success in recruiting and staffing.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage priorities and workflow.
- Ability to work independently while working as a member of various teams and committees.
- Proficiency in various computer programs, including Microsoft Office, and social media.
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prepare reports and business correspondence, including HR analytics.
- Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels.
