WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
SUHNER USA, Inc. is seeking to fill the role of Commodity Buyer, located at our facility in Rome, GA.
BASIC FUNCTION The function of the Commodity Buyer is to maintain solid relationships with the company's key clients by leading purchasing activities under the leadership nof the Logistics and Warehouse Manager. Responsible for the acquisition of supplies, services, and equipment necessary to support SUHNER USA, Inc. operations.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES Leadership and Management
Represent SUHNER in a positive and professional manner.
Work with all personnel and outside contacts to satisfy clients and achieve company goals.
Identify area of improvement in the company and assist in creating and implementing solutions.
Primary Duties
Execute procurement strategies to minimize the risk of negative impact on daily operations.
Place purchase orders with suppliers in accordance to Material Requirements Planning.
Manage inventories according to safety stock and sales cycles.
Monitor supplier performance.
Work closely with Marketing, Sales, Operations, Logistics, and Warehouse to support new product introductions.
Support customers Vendor Managed Inventory.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Business and/or 5 years of experience in related field.
5 - 7 years of experience in purchasing in a commodity buying environment. Experience with abrasive purchasing is preferred.
Demonstrated leadership in Purchasing and Supply Chain
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Proven track record in: Innovation, ingenuity, creativity, attention to detail, ownership, integrity, accountability, and willingness to seek and take on challenges is required.
Possess knowledge of financial indicators and analysis and a demonstrated record of cost reduction.
Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills at all levels of the organization and the ability to break down purchasing discussions into understandable concepts for non-purchasing colleagues.
Demonstrated capability to navigate organizations to achieve results.
Willingness to be flexible and adjust to a changing work environment.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, organize and accurately prioritize work. Understand when urgency is required and use good judgment in varied situations.
