Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Sushi Chef to join our team in a fast-paced fine dining environment. As a key member of our culinary team, the Sushi Chef will be responsible for preparing and serving a wide variety of sushi dishes to our customers. Duties
- Prepare and serve sushi dishes, including maki, nigiri, and sashimi, using fresh and high-quality ingredients.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, adhering to food safety and handling standards.
- Collaborate with other chefs and kitchen staff to create innovative and visually appealing dishes.
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Japanese cuisine, including sushi-making techniques and ingredients.
- Assist with menu planning and development, including creating sushi combinations and specials.
- Provide excellent customer service, ensuring that every guest leaves with a positive dining experience.
- Work effectively in a high-pressure kitchen environment, managing multiple orders and priorities simultaneously.
- Maintain a positive and respectful attitude, fostering a supportive and productive team environment.
- Participate in catering events and other special occasions, providing exceptional food and service.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and techniques in the food industry, attending workshops and training sessions as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in the food industry, preferably in a fine dining or sushi restaurant.
- Strong knowledge of Japanese cuisine and sushi-making techniques.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, managing multiple orders and priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent food handling and food safety skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
- A strong commitment to providing exceptional food and service.
- A passion for learning and staying up-to-date with the latest trends and techniques in the food industry.
- A clean and professional appearance, adhering to a high standard of hygiene and dress code.
