Required:Bachelors degree (must apply and be accepted in one of many graduate programs at Sul Ross State University). Previous high school/collegiate tennis experience either playing or coaching. Standard office machines; computer skills. Ability to assist and/or direct practices and workouts.
Preferred:Additional or other related experience. Participated or helped coach tennis camps for any age groups. Word processing, database, and spreadsheet computer program skills. Standard drivers license. Able to string rackets and change tennis nets.
Primary Responsibilities:Sul Ross State University, an NCAA Division III institution located in Alpine, Texas, and a member of the American Southwest Conference, is currently seeking qualified applicants for a graduate assistant position in the department of athletics for mens and womens tennis.
The successful applicant will work closely with the Head Mens and Womens Tennis Coach. In this role, the successful applicant will be working closely with the student-athletes at SRSU. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, assist in practice and game planning and preparation; assist in recruiting prospective student-athletes; support of student-athlete success on the court and in the classroom; hospitality and travel management; help setup and tear down of game operations; and other duties as assigned. Responsible for personal safety and the safety of others; must exercise due caution and practice safe work habits at all times. This position is security sensitive.
Other Information:Texas Law requires a 60 day waiting period before new state employees are eligible to enroll in health insurance.
