The Department of Natural & Behavioral Sciences invites applications for a tenure-track, 9- month Assistant Professor of Mathematics position in Eagle Pass, Texas beginning August 2025.

Required :

  • Ph. D. in Mathematics with a broad background. ABD applicants will be considered, but appointment will be at the instructor rank and all degree requirements must be completed by February 1, 2026
  • Two years of teaching experience (graduate student teaching experience accepted) in a broad range of undergraduate courses in mathematics
  • Excellence in classroom instruction is a priority
  • Commitment to grow the undergraduate mathematics program.
  • In-person teaching and advising in Eagle Pass, Texas

Primary Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include the following :

  • Teaching 12 semester credit hours per semester of face to face, hybrid, and online undergraduate courses such as geometry, calculus, differential equations, algebra, probability, and statistics.
  • Advising students and mentoring biology majors' activities and organizations
  • Other responsibilities include :

  • Demonstrating progress in research .
  • Participating in curriculum development and assessment.
  • Engaging in service to the department, college, and university.
  • Responsible for personal safety and the safety of others; must exercise due caution and practice safe work habits at all times.

    Texas Law requires a 60 day waiting period before new state employees are eligible to enroll in health insurance.
