Position Overview
The Coordinator of Instructional Support Services is critical in fostering educational excellence by coordinating and managing a wide range of instructional programs and services. This position supports district-wide improvement efforts by integrating culturally responsive-sustaining education (CRSE) practices, promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), and enhancing professional development opportunities for educators. The Coordinator works collaboratively with district leaders, teachers, and external partners to advance student learning and achievement.
Key Responsibilities
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Coser and CRSE Integration
Oversee the implementation and management of DEI initiatives, including supporting districts in developing equitable and inclusive learning environments. Lead the integration of culturally responsive-sustaining education frameworks into instructional programs and professional development, including work with the Intercultural Development Inventory.
Test Scoring Services
Coordinate and oversee assessment scoring services to ensure accuracy, reliability, and compliance with state standards.
Accountability Support for Districts
Provide guidance and support to districts on accountability measures and compliance with state and federal reporting requirements.
Annual Professional Performance Review (APPR) Training
Facilitate APPR/STEPS training for administrators in component districts and new teachers at BOCES. Attend the Teacher Leadership Effectiveness SCDN Framework meetings.
MyLearningPlan (MLP) Management
Oversee the management and implementation of MyLearningPlan to streamline professional development and observation/evaluation tracking and reporting.
Professional Development Planning and Workshops
Design and deliver workshops, particularly those related to Information Technology and Curriculum Contracts (ITCC), including Renaissance and NWEA User Groups. Develop and provide training for mentors and new teachers. Identify and recruit vendors and consultants to provide specialized services and programs for districts—partner with the BOCES and districts to plan professional development days throughout the year.
ITCC Coordination
Lead coordination efforts for ITCC programs to enhance curriculum and instructional technology integration.
Arts in Education Programs
Manage Arts in Education initiatives, including organizing Elementary and High School Art Shows and the Scholastic Arts Program. Participate in statewide arts initiatives and collaborate with regional and state-level arts organizations.
Distance Learning
Support and expand distance learning opportunities to provide diverse instructional modalities.
Graduation Measures
Assist districts in understanding and implementing new graduation measure requirements, especially regarding Portrait of a Graduate and Performance/Problem-Based Learning and Assessment.
Teacher Center Coordination
Collaborate with the Teacher Center to align professional development offerings with district needs.
Data and School Improvement Support
Facilitate data meetings and provide data-driven decision-making support for district school improvement efforts. Attend DATAG meetings to stay informed of best data analysis and reporting practices. Assist with data integration processes and ensure accurate SIRS reporting complies with state guidelines.
Literacy and ELA Framework Participation
Engage in ELA Framework meetings and other subject area frameworks, including Math, Science, Social-Emotional Learning (SEL), and Social Studies.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in education, educational leadership, or a related field.
- Valid New York State School District Administrator (SDA) or School District Leader (SDL) certification.
- Demonstrated experience in instructional leadership, professional development, and data-driven school improvement.
- Strong knowledge of culturally responsive teaching, DEI initiatives, and New York State accountability systems.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills.
