- Experience with billing and insurance preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written reports

ROUTINE RESPONSIBILITIES
Job Duties
- Answers the telephone in a professional and courteous manner
- Takes messages and documents in EHR for appropriate staff/provide
- Directs calls to appropriate staff members
- Collects payments and routes paperwork to the Business Office
- Schedules new and return appointments per protocols of the providers
- Explains billing policies and refers patients without insurance to the SHIP coordinator
- Maintains a good working relationship with office/clinic staff members and providers
- Verifies insurance and demographics
- Participates in performance improvement activities
- Performs other duties as assigned
