Scope of Position:
The Unit Manager (UM) has clinical, administrative and coordination of Resident Care responsibility for units during tour of duty. The UM uses professional knowledge, and experience to design, implement, and manage creative, cost-effective, high-quality resident care.
Examples of Duties

  • Attendance is a fundamental tenant of Sullivan County. All employees are obligated to report to work for each scheduled shift on time and depart from the workplace only when permitted to do so by the County.
  • Manages licensed nursing staff who provide health care and nursing services on the unit.
  • Responsible for the implementation, and maintenance of innovative, cost-effective, high-quality resident care, including delegation of responsibilities to nursing staff consistent with abilities, job description, and scope of practice.
  • Initiate preventative care measures to avoid unplanned weight losses, pressure sores, falls, and decline in Activities of Daily Living, and update care plans to reflect actions.
  • Work collaboratively with our Physicians, Nurse Practitioner and Rehabilitation Department to ensure the residents are getting the appropriate care to maintain their highest individualized level of physical and emotional well-being.
  • Rotate “on-call” status with Staff Development Coordinator and Evening Supervisor for telephone consultation, troubleshooting and emergency staffing needs.
  • Assist DNS and the Admissions Coordinator in the assessment of applicants for admission.
  • Follows ANA Standards for nursing practice as well as ANA Standards of Gerontological Nursing; serves as a clinical and professional role model.

Typical Qualifications
Must be a graduate of a School of Nursing accredited by the American Nurses Association
State of New Hampshire RN or LPN License required.
Two years of Acute Care and/or Rehabilitation nursing experience required.
A minimum of one-year supervisory experience
Must be certified to administer IV’s and will be required to obtain certification for CPR.
Supplemental Information
Mandatory post offer physical, drug testing and Criminal records check required (County paid).

Pay: $67,717.00 - $91,418.00 per year
