We are currently seeking the following position to join our team in the Houston, Texas area :
MACHINIST
POSITION SUMMARY
To machine, inspect and produce manufactured product per operating procedures and instructions.
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
Perform complex machining & welding
Understand and operate machines, tooling, and measuring equipment properly and safely
Read / understand basic blueprints and schematics
Support valve assembly and disassembly as needed
Support valve automation as needed
Basic math skills
Effective communication skills
Follow written and verbal instructions
Work independently with help as needed
Regular attendance is essential
REQUIRED SKILLS
Able to use specialized equipment including manual machine, lathe, CNC, and measuring tools
10 years’ experience machining
Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or 10 years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Welding experience helpful but not required
Basic product knowledge and programming skills
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Must be able to ascend and descend ladders, scaffolds, stairs and work in confined spaces and in proximity to loud equipment regularly.
Must be able to wear appropriate PPE, including but not limited to : safety glasses, gloves, steel-toe boots and other equipment regularly.
Ability to lift / move up to 50-100 pounds regularly.
Ability to stand for 8 or more hours daily / regularly.
Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl regularly.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this position, the technician is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, and electrical equipment in both high and low voltage / amperage ranges, and occasionally exposed to high places, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally high.
