What You’ll Do
- Develop and execute strategic inbound routing plans to optimize efficiency and reduce costs.
- Oversee dynamic load planning, utilizing company assets and third-party carriers to streamline deliveries.
- Set up and maintain schedules for inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring on-time delivery.
- Direct the flow of materials and products, keeping operations running smoothly.
- Collaborate with internal departments to implement logistics improvements that enhance productivity.
- Supervise and mentor the logistics team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Manage the importing and exporting process, ensuring compliance with all regulations and policies.
- Monitor showroom sample receiving and sales representative sample shipments.
- Work with National Accounts on exclusive SKU setup and PO placement with vendors.
- Assist sales representatives with customer custom orders.
- Identify slow-moving products and recommend discounting strategies.
- Maintain reporting data for all logistics costs, including ocean freight, inland freight, and duty.
- Review and approve payment invoices for vendors, freight, and duty.
- Collaborate with multiple departments daily to troubleshoot shipping needs and provide historical data.
- Direct the team to ensure timely arrival of samples and stock shipments and proper maintenance of sales promotions and closeouts.
- Oversee the Sample Assistant to ensure showroom and sales force samples are available.
- Manage the Inventory Clerk to ensure accurate product delivery monitoring.
- Prepare and manage the department’s annual budget.
- Maintain relationships with foreign offices, agents, and incoming freight shipping partners.
Requirements
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience: 5 years in logistics, supply chain, or a related field, with a strong background in inbound logistics.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
- Analytical Mindset: Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement effective solutions.
- Collaboration: Strong communication and teamwork skills to work cross-functionally.
- Tech-Savvy: Proficiency in logistics software, ERP systems, and industry-related tools.
